From the heart of St. Louis, Missouri to the bright lights of Los Angeles, Trish Lash quickly became one of the '80s Dance Contest Queens, dazzling crowds with her bold fusion of jazz, ballet, modern, and street styles.

This week Open Mic has the pleasure of welcoming a self-taught Black woman in entertainment, who shattered expectations—becoming a drummer, rocking stages across the chitlin’ circuit, and later making her mark in LA’s underground nightlife.
