Mark Davison
Behind every great dance movement, there are the pioneers who move on the floor, and the visionaries who ensure they have a floor to move on. Mark Davison started his journey in the nightlife industry all the way back in 1975. Long before the massive sound systems and global streaming platforms, he got his start spinning records as a DJ during live band breaks. His grand payment back then? Exactly two free drinks a night.
But that spark never faded. For nearly 50 years he was a still a DJ and just stopped that after Covid, and as he always says: being the DJ is far more fun than being the owner. But as a club owner, he did something rare and invaluable: he threw open the doors, giving the dancers a safe platform to shine, and that is why he is respected and celebrated by the Street Dance community who owes him a debt of gratitude.
A heartfelt thank you to Mark for providing the soundtrack, creating safe spaces to move, and always standing in the corner of California’s Street Dancers.
Mark has brought that same community spirit to his incredible new spot, Two Frogs Cantina in Upland, California. To the entire Street Dance community, the next time you are looking for a spot to link up, eat, and vibe, you know exactly where to go.
